Qualified supervision
Every dive is led by an SSI-qualified instructor or divemaster, with the group and plan matched to certification, experience and conditions.
Safety checks before entry
The briefing covers the site, signals, entry, exit and emergency procedures. Equipment fit and function are checked before anyone enters the water.
Equipment quality and maintenance
Rental equipment is inspected, maintained and serviced regularly. Anything worn, leaking or not fitting correctly is addressed before the dive begins.

Yes. Every package includes dorm accommodation at The Penida Project at no extra accommodation cost. Discover Dive and Fun Dives include 1 night, SSI Advanced includes 2 nights, and SSI Open Water includes 3 nights. Room upgrades and extra nights can be added during booking.
02I am a beginner—which package should I choose?+
Choose Discover Dive for a closely supervised first experience without certification. Choose SSI Open Water if you want a multi-day course and an internationally recognised certification.
03Who operates the diving and safety checks?+
Project Laut operates every in-water activity. Its qualified instructors and divemasters manage equipment, briefings, safety checks, dive sites and group plans around your experience and the conditions.
04Is The Penida Project a party hostel?+
It is a social hostel with a bar, restaurant and rotating activities—not a nonstop party hostel. Most activities finish around 10pm; selected Saturdays and full-moon events can run later.
05Are manta rays or specific dive sites guaranteed?+
No. Mantas are wild animals and ocean conditions change. Project Laut chooses sites, timing and schedules around safety, your level and the best possible experience that day.
06Do you arrange the fast boat and harbour pickup?+
Yes. You can add a Penida Project x Waruna fast boat ticket during checkout, and harbour pickup is included when the ticket is booked through The Penida Project. Exact routes and timings are confirmed with your arrival plan.
